American Idol: Adam Lambert sings ‘Play That Funky Music’ (Video)

Adam Lambert once again brought the house down and the audience to its feet with his dynamic performance of Wild Cherry’s “Play That Funky Music.”

It was a ridiculous song choice to me but the 26-year-old theater actor somehow gave an extraordinary performance.

Adam truly defies vocal limits. He is the most consistent performer in the group and he gives the most unforgettable performance every week.

Paula: “True genius does not fulfill expectation, true genius shatters it.” Then she compares Adam to Steven Tyler and Mick Jagger.

Simon: “That was very brave. It was original.”

Randy: “You’ve got that voice… you worked it out. You’re definitely in the star zone baby.”

Kara; “Every week I cannot wait to get to the show and see what you’re gonna do next. It was like studio 57 up in here tonight.”

Adam is a very talented singer. But, to compare him with the two rock n’ roll gods is totally insane. Paula doesn’t know what she’s saying. Would Mick Jagger play that funky music? I don’t think so.

American Idol: Kris Allen sings ‘Ain’t No Sunshine’ (Video)

On Tuesday’s American Idol, the Top 9 contestants were given the liberty to pick any song as long as it’s a popular download on iTunes.

Kris Allen likes taking old songs and making them contemporary. Accompanied by a string section, he sang “Ain’t No Sunshine” by Bill Withers, ditching the guitar for the keyboards.

I have to admit that he delivered this time. The song came across emotional and moving. This was definitely his best performance of the season. Based on his looks and artistry, I can see Kris becoming a recording artist.

Randy: “So creative… so cool.”

Kara: “That is artistry!”

Paula: “That could be the first cut from your album.”

Simon: “That was a very good arrangement of the song. It was very clever. Very cool”

What can you say about his performance?

The man who allegedly ‘set-up’ Ashley Biden in a cocaine scandal could be facing several years in prison, Radar Online reported on Tuesday.

The White House was pushed into chaos Saturday as a shocking video come out allegedly showing Vice President Biden’s daughter snorting cocaine.

According to the gossip website, Ashley was apparently tricked by a “friend” trying to profit from selling the video to different media outlets.

The tape, which was shopped around for a minimum of $250,000, claims to show a woman who looks identical to Ashley snorting cocaine.

Four lines of white powdery substance are clearly visible on the table. After she snorts the first line, the woman lifts her head and wipes her nose, then snorts a second and third line of powder, Radar Online reported.

According to the website, the seller planned the whole thing and set up a woman alleged to be Ashley at a raucous house party in Wilmington, Delaware. The man made sure he was in right position to videotape her when she snorted the substance.

The Bidens have had no comment on the matter.

‘Sexy teacher’ to be disciplined over lingerie photos

A PE teacher faces disciplinary action after posing seductively in her underwear on the internet.

Natasha Gray, 30, who was voted Britain’s sexiest teacher on a television show in 2002, was pictured wearing a thong, pink lingerie and stilettos on a website for glamour models.

One parent wrote a letter complaining about the photos, saying they were “common knowledge” among children as young as 11.

Ben Slade, head teacher of Manor Community College in Cambridge, said the photographs of the head of PE should not have been published.

“They were completely inappropriate for somebody who is a teacher,” he said.

“They were absolutely not pornographic but do you want to see your teacher in that way? Probably not.”

Mr. Slade  said he had ordered the immediate removal of the portfolio of “about eight” images from the website iModel.com after he became aware of them. According to him, Miss Gray would be reprimanded but not suspended.

Hundreds of people are believed to have drowned after boats carrying hundreds of migrants sank in stormy weather off the coast of Libya, officials from the International Organization for Migration said Tuesday.

Official casualty figures were not immediately available from Libyan authorities, but Egypt’s Foreign Ministry said only 20 people had been rescued including six Egyptians.

The migrants were believed to be from North and Sub-Saharan African countries heading for Italy for a better life.

Libya has become a popular destination country and transit point for immigrants from eastern and southern Africa heading for Europe.

J.K. Rowling, Ken Follet attack Scribd for pirated content

J.K. Rowling and Ken Follet are involved in a legal battle against literary pirates, The Times reported on Monday.

Publishers and agents representing the best-selling authors are now trying to get the free copies of their novels removed from Scribd–a document sharing website dubbed as “YouTube for books.”

The California-based company claims to have more than 55 million visitors a month, with more than 50,000 new documents uploaded by users daily.

Neil Blair, Rowling’s lawyer, said that Scribd did not have permission “and what you have identified are infringing listings which we were aware of and actioning”, the newspaper was told.

Ken Follett’s publisher, Macmillan, said it was unaware that “World without End” had been uploaded on to the Scribd website for more than five months, and had been read more than 500 times there. Macmillan said it was “now looking into this”.

But according to the Scribd blog, there is no battle going on between Rowling and the site, and that The Times’ article is “inaccurate and misleading.”

The People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) has been accused of killing thousands of pets placed in its custody.

Last year, statistics show that the animal welfare charity put down 2,124 animals that had been given to them. And since 1998, more than 20,000 pets handed to PETA have been put down, according to a report by the Daily Mail.

Figures obtained from the Virginia Department of Agriculture reveal that last year PETA killed five pets a day.

The organization, which collects over £25 million ($35.7 million) in donations, does not run an adoption shelter.
