The Chicago Bulls beat the Boston Celtics 128-127 in triple overtime Thursday night, sending the Eastern Conference first-round playoff series to a deciding seventh game.
John Salmons top scored for the Bulls with 35 points, while Derrick Rose added 28 and blocked a potential game-winning shot from Rajon Rondo.
Ray Allen registered a career playoff-high 51 points for the Celtics, but he couldn’t get his team past the persistent Bulls.
With the score tied at 123-123 in the third overtime, Joakim Noah stole the ball and broke upcourt for a dunk, got fouled by Paul Pierce and hit the free throw with 35.5 seconds remaining.
Eddie House responded with a corner jumper, that pulled Boston within 126-125, but Chicago’s Brad Miller then hit two free throws to get the lead back up to three with 28 seconds to play.
Rondo penetrated, pulled up on the left block and turned, only to have his shot blocked by Rose. Rose then missed two free throws with 3.2 seconds remaining before Rondo launched a harmless shot from beyond midcourt.
The series goes down to the wire in Boston on Saturday with the winners facing the Orlando Magic.

Kelly McGillis, best known for playing Tom Cruise’s love interest in Top Gun, has confirmed longstanding rumors that she’s a lesbian in an interview with SheWired.com.
“I’m done with the man thing. I did that, I need to move on in life. That’s another part of being true to yourself…that’s been a challenge for me personally,” she said.
The 51-year-old actress, who is twice married and twice divorced, has long been the subject of rumors but always denied being gay. McGillis has two daughters with her second husband Fred Tillman.
“Life is a freaking journey, and it’s about growing and changing, and coming to terms with who and what you are, and loving who and what you are,” she added.

Several people were wounded Thursday when a car slammed into a crowd watching the Queen’s Day parade in Netherlands.
Witnesses said the black Suzuki Swift appeared to be deliberately driving at high speed toward an open-top bus carrying Dutch Queen Beatrix and several members of the royal family in Apeldoorn. The car sped through the spectators, swerved across police railings and slammed into the foot of a stone monument.
It is not clear whether the driver was acting intentionally. The royal bus was not hit, and no one in the Queen’s entourage was injured.
Dutch television said that at least 14 people were killed, but the police declined to confirm the report.

New York – U.S. Justice Department questions Google if they are violating antitrust in regards of digitalizing world’s books into a database that is online.
This settlement between Google, Association of American Publishers, and the Authors Guild was made back in October. A fund of over one-hundred million would pay out the authors. Back in 2005, publishers and authors sued Google’s book online scanning project, which had dealt with copyrighted books, and public domain.
Some say that Google has the right to monopoly the books for online access since the deal was done.
Earlier this month, the Department of Justice was called by a nonprofit group, to investigate Google and their plans to scan these books to the online database. Google was planning on scanning books that are copyrighted, but the person that holds the rights, can’t be found. They are known as “Orphan” books.
John Simpson, an advocate for the nonprofit group had sent a letter to the U.S. Attorney General, wanting the government to intervene with this settlement between Google and the Authors Guild and the Association of American Publishers stating that the settlement needed to be relooked at to see if it took the consumers interest or not. Simpson also stated in his letter that this settlement, that was done, protects Google, but there is no protection for others. Simpson describes it as a barrier for other competitors to join in on the digital book process.
The digitized book business has become competitive and on the rise in the market. Back in March Sony had announced it eBook domain free for readers.
With the legal people chatting with Google and the other businesses involved, we shall see soon what the investigation will bring forth.

A Flash game aimed at tackling the global spread of swine flu has become an internet hit.
In Swinefighter the player needs to shoot as many pig-like viruses as possible using a huge needle to stop the spread of the disease.
Wasting 20 seconds of my time this afternoon, I killed 21 green pigs before they fly off across the globe to cause yet further panic.
The web game was designed by the guys over at Heyzap. And with over 150,000 game plays in just 24 hours, it has really done quite well.

Women’s activist groups in Kenya have slapped their partners with a week-long sex ban in protest over the infighting plaguing the national unity government.
The Women’s Development Organization coalition said they would also pay prostitutes to join their strike.
The campaigners are asking the wives of the Kenyan president and the prime minister to join in the embargo.
They say they want to avoid a repeat of the violence which convulsed the country after the late-2007 elections.
Relations between Kenya’s coalition partners, led by President Mwai Kibaki and Prime Minister Raila Odinga, have become increasingly acrimonious.
Now the dispute has moved to the nation’s bedrooms.
