New York – Last night’s final contestants on American Idol who are trying for a place in the Top 12 were, overall, very disappointing. Except for 3 singers, everyone seemed to bomb their song, either because of their performance or because of song choice, and receive the most scathing remarks from the judges to date.
Taylor Vaifanua had a hard go last night. She attempted her own rendition of an Alicia Keys song, but according to Simon, was ‘utterly forgettable.’ It didn’t end there, Simon seemed not to be able to remember her even just after her performance. He remarked to one of the other judges, “We have a Taylor in the competition?” So forgettable.
Another sad performance was Arianna Asfar’s version of an ABBA song which was overdone and boring. Again, contestants should never do rock songs as solo songs unless they are really good. Arianna was not very good. Again, Simon called the performance, ‘absolutely terrible.’ Again, so forgettable.
The top performers of the evening were definitely Lil Rounds, Ju’not Joyner and Scott MacIntyre. They all chose the right song and performed the heck out of it. If America gets it right, these will be the next three members of the Top 12 to go on competing.
